At the same time we give video donations to charities and nonprofits, aiming to amplify the voices of those whose work matters most.

How do you hope to use the grant?
“As a startup resources are always spread thin. Whilst we are proud of the impact our work creates, we still struggle to define and improve our own sustainability strategy and process. From making productions greener, to helping us reduce the environmental impact of logistics and data usage, to implementing better practices as a business and founding team, this grant will give us the resources to set out our sustainability framework for the coming years.”
Why does sustainability matter to you?
“We started Velvet Green after rejecting an offer to get flown out to an oil rig to produce a recruitment series - it made us consider the impact of our work and the opportunity video creates to accelerate change in the 21st century. From a personal perspective I also believe that we HAVE to move into a new era of purpose-driven for-profit business. Governments seem unable to make the impact that is required, it is up to the business world to set examples and to drive sustainability forward. At Velvet Green we fundamentally believe that this is the future, almost all businesses will become green, there is no alternative - but in order to achieve this, early adopters must set a precedent. It's imperative for the future of our planet that we make a change, there is no viable alternative.”
