How it Works.

Our Process.

  • If you’re a small, UK-based, upcoming startup looking to do things differently, you can apply through our online application.

  • If shortlisted, we’ll have an initial screening call and a panel session to determine if you’re a right fit for the grant.

  • If you are successful, we will sign an agreement to make the EarthInvest Promise.

Our side of the promise will be to:

    • Send you a £12,500 grant to kick-start your sustainability journey.

    • Share your story through the EarthInvest website with a focus on sharing learnings and inspiring other companies.

Your side of the promise will be to:

    • Make a good-faith, long-term commitment to consider the planet as a stakeholder.

In addition the agreement will stipulate:

    • How the money can be spent (suppliers and timeline).

    • Invoices for proof of how the money was spent.

    • A three month check-in after the grant has been awarded.

    • An annual update for the first three years for you to demonstrate and share what steps you have been taking to consider the planet as a stakeholder.

  • You’ll be awarded £12,500 to help kick start your business’s sustainability journey.

The money must be spent as follows:

    • £10,000 on carbon measurement and removal via Supercritical (aiming for this to last one or two years),

    • £2,500 on training (e.g. net-zero consultancy and/or carbon literacy training) so you and your team are well equipped to make good decisions from approved suppliers (you may propose suppliers).

  • We are on a mission to bring the Planet in to every meeting room. The more stories of successful businesses doing this effectively, the more this will happen. We want to share your story for the inspiration and education of other business leaders.

    • £10,000 on carbon measurement and removal via Supercritical (aiming for this to last one or two years),

Specifically, here’s what we expect from you (which will be agreed in a contract before the grant is awarded):

    • A long-term commitment to consider the planet as a stakeholder.

    • Invoices for proof of how the money was spent.

    • A three month check-in after the grant has been awarded.

    • An annual update for the first three years for you to demonstrate and share what steps you have been taking to consider the planet as a stakeholder.

  • Your side of the promise will be to make a good-faith, long-term commitment to consider the planet as a stakeholder. We won’t stipulate the specifics of what that means because we don’t have all the answers.

You will share an annual update for the first three years to demonstrate and share what steps you are taking to consider the planet as a stakeholder.

We will share your story, alongside other EarthInvest beneficiaries to inspire and educate other business leaders to consider the Planet as a stakeholder.

  • This is the first step in paving a future for more sustainable business. Running a business will inevitably require resources from the Planet to operate - the planet is a stakeholder in your business. Businesses everywhere aren’t accepting enough responsibility when it comes to considering their use of the planet's resources. By helping new businesses get off on the right foot, we hope to showcase their success stories, setting a better example for how we all need to think about the planet when doing business.

  • Certainly.

Note the only ROI is for the planet.
